This recent Israeli/Palestinian conflict has taken over 600 lives in under 10 days. I have not heard this analogy as of yet if canada were firing Qussam make shift rockets in to the states and had taken 282 lives after we had retaliated with removing 28200 Canadian terrorists how would that look to other countries? Now what if we were responsible for their safety as we occupy and until recently owned that territory. The way I arrived at this figure is the comparison of a population of Israel is 7M compared to 330M here in the US roughly 47 to 1.

Posted in Uncategorized on January 6, 2009 by drunkandlaid
I feel there are some misconceptions about this topic and decided to include my thoughts to clear up the confusion. If a HS listener hears about and researches a topic brought up on the show it is bound to receive a surge of hits. The replay and bootlegs are all evidence of the trends results. The news topics are generally within the top 100 and obscure references such as ham hands, ass napkin and even betlejuice and bababooey too.
Upon in depth analysis I would suggest the serious satellite radio fans are HS fans at least a couple million strong. A percentage are in terrestrial radio, show business (comedy) and media outlet industries. These people have access to on line sources and are assisting with the media hype.
To conclude the pay radio listeners may have access to google. At 3 in the morning LA I would suggest there are fewer people on line than in NY. This boost the numbers and percentages so much higher than the 8-9am east coat time frame.
Relatively the advertisement dollar is probably goes to a wealthier, supportive and loyal bunch of comedy talk radio lovers (like me). I hope even with the shallow support from Stern the SiriusXM team is supported. I leave it on 24hrs a day.
Malwarebytes finally removed SpywareGuard2008 and SpyWare Guard 2008

Frankly, I gave up and was resigned to switch to Linux. I will soon anyway but this SpywareGuard2008 was annoying. The popups, the hijacked advertisments and constant scanning of my system were blatant attacks. I am very grateful to Malware antimailware after the third time I ran the free version the virus appears to be missing. I am reposting this link from bleeping computer because it was cached when I was searching for a solution.
Thanks,

What this programs does:
Spyware Guard 2008 is a rogue anti-spyware program that uses deceptive advertising methods. This program is promoted through the use of fake online anti-malware scanners that state your computer is infected and that you should download and install Spyware Guard 2008 to protect it. These online scanners, though, are just advertisements and have no way of knowing what is running on your computer. They are only stating that you are infected in order to scare you into installing the program.
If you decide to install the software, Spyware Guard 2008 will configure itself to run automatically on your computer when it starts. Then it will create seven fake malware files that it will detect as malware on your computer in order to further scare you into thinking you are infected. These fake malware files are:
c:\WINDOWS\reged.exe
c:\WINDOWS\spoolsystem.exe
c:\WINDOWS\sys.com
c:\WINDOWS\syscert.exe
c:\WINDOWS\sysexplorer.exe
c:\WINDOWS\vmreg.dll
%UserProfile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\olesys.dll
When Spyware Guard 2008 starts, it automatically scans your computer and lists the seven files above, as well as numerous legitimate files, as malware and does not allow you to remove them unless you first purchase the software. These fake malware files, and all of the legitimate files it flags as infections, are only being used to scare you into purchasing the software. In fact, the files found are all harmless. While this software is installed, you may also find that your computer starts to operate slower. This is because the program is constantly running in the background using up your computer’s resources.

Automated Removal Instructions for Spyware Guard 2008 using Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware:
1. Print out these instructions as we will need to close every window that is open later in the fix.
2. Download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware, or MBAM, from the following location and save it to your desktop:
Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware Download Link
3. Once downloaded, close all programs and Windows on your computer, including this one.
4. Double-click on the icon on your desktop named Download_mbam-setup.exe. This will start the installation of MBAM onto your computer.
5. When the installation begins, keep following the prompts in order to continue with the installation process. Do not make any changes to default settings and when the program has finished installing, make sure you leave both the Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware checked. Then click on the Finish button.
6. MBAM will now automatically start and you will see a message stating that you should update the program before performing a scan. As MBAM will automatically update itself after the install, you can press the OK button to close that box and you will now be at the main program as shown below.

A day at the park and such
Posted in Uncategorized on August 7, 2008 by drunkandlaidWe took off for a ride to the beach at 4:40pm right on time. It was normally a ten minute ride but with the little tikes we got to the boat at 5:30. The coast was beautiful and the music started to play right on time at six…
Here are the boys in all their awesomeness…
Freeze Ray created by Dr. Horrible (“tell your friends”)
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Dr. Horrible, Neil Patrick Harris, sing along blog, SXEPHIL on August 1, 2008 by drunkandlaidSo this is a new one on me and I was going to buy a Blackberry last week anyway. The sponsor is a cat food and a Blackberry. I hope they fork over some dough for this mini-production. This is a pretty awesome 42 or so minutes.
- Dr. Horrible Sing Along Blog
If you get a chance to peep the show here is the LINK.
“Dr. Horrible” is a made-for-Internet production business, on his own dime (more like low six-figures though no one would get specific on the budget) and with a lot of help from industry friends. It was, as might be expected, very liberating and tons of fun, Harris opined in a post-screening chat with reporters and bloggers.
“We had the freedom to be like professional amateurs,” Harris said, and that sensibility was “worked into the vibe of the film.”
The plans and the initial script work on “Dr. Horrible” were hatched during the writers strike. It was based on an old idea that Joss had been kicking around, and of course “let’s do something for the Internet” was a mantra of the picket line during the WGA’s 100-day war.
“Dr. Horrible” was shot over seven days at the end of March, with much of the music recording work done at Joss’ home studio. They made a point of getting the blessings of the DGA, WGA and SAG, and Joss was committed to offering even more generous residual terms for the talent, in success, than they would receive under guild contracts.
“You don’t make a statement about what we can accomplish as a community…by screwing people over,” Joss said.
“Dr. Horrible” is a stab at new media, but it will launch with a nod to the olden days. Skein will debut free online at
www.drhorrible.com in three parts next week — July 15, July 17 and July 19. By the time the third installment goes up, however, viewers will have 48 hours to check it out before it is pulled to build anticipation for a forthcoming DVD release, download options and more.
“We want to make an event out of it, like an old TV event, something were you have to be in a certain place at a certain time” to see it, Whedon says.
“Dr. Horrible” will get a special reprise later this month at Comic-Con — a no-brainer for stoking interest among distribs in the DVD and Internet download offerings. (Joss’ main man at CAA, Chris Harbert, is working overtime to pull all those deals together.)
The Whedons and Tancharoen are already giving some thought to a followup program; there’s clearly more to explore in Dr. Horrible’s world. But at the moment Joss has to devote plenty of his energy to his other new offspring, the Fox midseason drama “Dollhouse,” on which Jed and Maurissa are also writers. Zack, meanwhile, is on the staff of Fox’s other big-ticket new drama, “Fringe.” But they all are promising a killer DVD release with extras, outtakes and not one but two commentary tracks.
As far as Joss is concerned, “Dr. Horrible” was a shot of pure joy — writing, directing and producing a tuner from scratch.
“If this is just my mid-life crisis — it’s the most awesome one imaginable,” he said, with feeling.
32 miles round trip
Posted in Uncategorized on July 28, 2008 by drunkandlaidTo the beach this morning. It was cool at 7:30 this morning when we Richard and I took off. It is bascially a straight shot due west to hit the coast. We went looking for surf beach and we found it 16.2 miles against the wind. I am grateful to the tire gods cutting me some slack. I am currently running that goop (self sealing liquid gel) with the air in my tubes.

- Lompoc, CA at the end of Ocean at the Amtrack Station.

The moring was a bit foggy and still windy but the straight smooth road was inviting. Going to do it again in the morning.
Website Review www.lasplash.com Splash Magazines Worldwide from Lawrence Davis
Posted in Uncategorized on July 14, 2008 by drunkandlaidThis is a .com hosting site delivered by Laurence Davis as a tireless worker he has no patience for inaccuracy. That being said the site is pretty glitchy. Some of the articles are informative but all point to the same lasplash web site. This refers to Los Angeles even though there are several other cities documented on the site. They all point to the same website which gets approximately 34K hits per day. As there are about half that many journalists that is not so surprising. The claim of over a million hits is absurd.
That is not the only problem with this review site. It is maintained by “journalist” that copy and paste the information directly from the originating party. The gift guide is posted directly from the manufacturers promotions staff or advertiser. The rest of the products “reviewed” are bartered out with merchandise which is sold on a variety of sites such as eBay currently CoolStuffOffered4Sale . That is understandable except the products have not been opened and are in shrink wrap thus untested, compared or even observed in use.
I would not have had such a problem with the morality nor ethical concerns but the Publisher/Editor is a bit of an eccentric. I would suggest he has never had to work for anything nor anyone in his life and currently expects everything for free. For instance labor. As a manufacturers media relations, public relations or promotions department offering products, services or discounts to Laurence Davis of Splash Magazines Worldwide sucks for journalists. The 4k articles come in from one of the unpaid Journalist? The interns and journalist should not be as disappointed with the “pay” as the “exchangers”.
These dead beats are workin’ for a livin’. This means for a specified number of hours posting, editing and/or writing articles you get the pleasure of living in the house with this true eccentric.
I can only speak to my experience and possibly for another interaction to which I was a witness. I found Lawrence Davis polite upon our first interaction. I expressed an interest in the live in employment situation over the phone and maintained several phone and web interactions prior to taking the leap down to the Hollywood Hills.
These pictures are on the Craigslist Ad I found called:
There you will find one of the most cluttered 100 year old homes off of Laurel Canyon Rd. The views are beautiful but the smell of the domesticated animals, clutter and filth of the inhabitants are unavoidable. I suppose I should have been more appreciative for the roof over my head. Our agreement started and ended with 25 hours of work per week and even though one day was a 9 am – 9 pm day went something like this. A one way screaming match from a middle aged seemingly mild mannered grandmother type pleaded with me to explain why I had not come in to see him after starting in the wrong office to begin work. I really almost cried I felt very bad for the turmoil and embarrassed he had been so affected by my decision to work in the office. Later without apology he proceeded to baby step me through software I have been familiar with for the last 14 years. I suppose I reacted like an abused child most of that day. My notes state a reoccurring theme “You are not as smart as you think you are!” This is only one of many argumentative and antagonistic blanket statements made by Lawrence Davis.
Anger and verbal attacks likely from his lack of understanding of social norms or stress was the common
denominator through the week. Consistently back stabbing all levels of his personal interactions was a common theme. Overall disappointment with his level of service, product or quality displayed in grunts, swearing or most commonly outbursts I can only label as temper tantrums were the majority of our week long relationship.
I am a kind, understanding and caring person and obviously modest. Normally I can get along in any situation indefinitely. I found this to be one of the most challenging. It was vital to my longevity to bond with the other “workers” all illegal migrants to my knowledge. Canadian, Mexican and British citizens currently interning, laboring and exchanging respectively. Upon our short trips to party or grab groceries we would compare tales and overall get a general sense of the level of expectation to which we were indentured.
On the same day recently we were both asked to leave the residence. I believe the British girl was unexceptionable 25 minutes late. This was a disrespect issue and considered a breach of contract. Later that day I was asked to leave due to my lack of communication, inability to follow precise instructions and general argumentative nature. Yes being to smart for my own good.
Original emails and phone calls were so inviting and exciting. I was to drag a graphically and functionally deficent site into glorious functionality. With substandard living conditions, equipment and restrictions on products we could use it could not quickly come to fruition. Please don’t be fooled or suckered by the pay per click activity going on on this sub par single domain built on broken dreams and fueled by one mans hate. My apologies to the bamboozled interns and journalist that create the content of this online rag of an ezine but there are plenty of oppurtunities out there. Please check the authenticity, accuracy and fundamental moraity of your sources.
